Creating Consistent Lighting for Fashion Brands: A Studio‑to‑Location Approach

Every January, I love starting the year with fresh creative energy — and this time, it’s all about lighting. In my newest video, I walk through my Aputure LED setup that I use for fashion e‑commerce photography and brand video work here in Philadelphia.

Through this setup, I experiment with backdrops in gray, white, and red tones, ideal for seasonal campaigns and Valentine’s Day shoots. The goal? To keep lighting consistent across both photo and motion, so brands have perfectly matched assets for social media, websites, and ads.

You’ll also hear me share insights on working with a hair and makeup artist for video shoots — why that partnership is key to maintaining visual cohesion and elevating production quality. Later this February, I’ll take the same setup on location, testing it in authentic city environments like cafés and subways.
